Header and search images
The wide image that leads a product page on iOS 27, and the creative that can stand in for screenshots in search.
Since iOS 27 a product page can lead with a wide header image, and search results can show one creative image instead of the first screenshots. Three devices make them, from the iPhone captures, with the Feature Graphic template:
header-3840x1646: the product page header (21:9);search-3840x2560: the search results image (3:2);universal-5244x2950: one 16:9 image for both. App Store Connect crops it to 21:9 for the header and 3:2 for search, so the layout keeps the text and device where both crops show them. Guides draws the two crops.
A page shows one of each.
Making one
- Add the device in Settings.
- Add a screen for it and, in the Screen tab, name only that device under Devices. It is listed apart, under Header, Search and Events, and takes no screenshot position.
- Give it a short headline and caption: the picture is wide and read at a glance.
Generate writes them to store/generated/creative/ (and a custom page's to its own folder in
store/generated/sets/). Unlike screenshots, they do not go through fastlane:
they upload to the app's Asset Library from Pages, and Apple reviews them on their own. See
the Asset Library.
