Install
Build the Mac app from source, or use the engine and CLI on their own.
The Mac app
You need macOS 14 or later, Xcode, Node 22 and XcodeGen.
git clone https://github.com/enso-works/appstore-management-tool.git store-shots
cd store-shots && npm ci
brew install xcodegen
sh mac/build.sh --open # builds mac/build/Store Shots.app and opens itMove Store Shots.app to Applications if you like; it remembers the checkout it was built
from. You can point it at another one in Settings.
The engine
The Mac app's controls are native; the canvas and everything behind it (templates, rendering, checks, App Store Connect, fastlane) are the engine, a Node app in the same checkout.
- If an engine is already running on ports 3000 to 3009 (
store-shots openornpm run dev), the app uses it and leaves it running when you quit. - Otherwise the app starts one from the checkout and stops it on quit.
- Engine > Show Engine Log (Shift-Command-L) shows its output. The log is also in
~/Library/Logs/Store Shots/editor.log.
Only the command line
The engine and the CLI run on any OS with Node 22. Capturing from a simulator needs Xcode.
git clone https://github.com/enso-works/appstore-management-tool.git store-shots
cd store-shots && npm ci
npx store-shots --helpnpx store-shots works inside the checkout. To run store-shots from anywhere, link it once:
npm link
store-shots projectsThe browser editor
store-shots open # the app in the current folder
store-shots open Rallo # or one from your list, by nameThis starts the engine and opens the editor in your browser. It has the same canvas as the Mac app, with fewer conveniences around it.
Fonts
Generating needs the app's fonts as local files, so every render uses exactly the same glyphs.
The tool downloads them once from Google Fonts into store/assets/fonts:
store-shots fonts add "Space Grotesk"
store-shots fonts checkIn the Mac app, Settings > Fonts does the same.
